Moldova has no campervan infrastructure to speak of, and that is the honest starting point. There is no service point network, no aire equivalent, and no national register of campsites that we could find. Two campsites are listed for the whole country, both beside Orheiul Vechi, and their rates are below. What the country does have is a lot of empty rural road, very little traffic, and guesthouses in the wine and monastery villages that will usually let you park.

What a night costs at the two campsites we could find listed
- Camping Vila Roz, Trebujeni
- €8
- Bacota, near Butuceni
- €20
The site's own listed rate for two adults, caravan, car, electricity and local taxes, on camping.info in September 2026. Same in high and low season
The site's own listed rate on the same basis and in the same month. Both sit within a few kilometres of Orheiul Vechi
Where to sleep, and what to check first
| Option | What it is | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Winery or guesthouse | The normal answer. Wine and rural tourism is the one part of Moldovan tourism with an actual network behind it. | Ask in advance. Most are family businesses rather than booking-site listings |
| Village household | Rural tourism accommodation, common around Orheiul Vechi and in the Codru villages. | Whether they can take a vehicle rather than only guests |
| Town parking | Chișinău and the district towns. Parking on the right in the direction of travel, close to the kerb. | Lighting and surface. Both are on the UK advice list as poor |
| Campsite | Almost none. Two are listed for the whole country, both by Orheiul Vechi, and there is no network behind them. | Assume there is not one where you are going |
What you have to have with you
- The vignette confirmation, for the whole stay. The Tax Code requires it, and without it the Border Police will hold the vehicle at the exit.
- A copy of your passport photo page. Police checks are frequent and officers can ask for identification in the street.
Water, waste and light
- Tap water is not for drinking under UK health advice for Moldova, so carry bottled or boil it. That changes how you plan a week here.
- There is no service point network. Fill up at guesthouses and wineries, by arrangement.
This panel deliberately does not tell you what Moldovan law says about tents, fires or protected areas, because the statutes could not be read from the official portal during research and we will not guess at them. Treat the absence of a stated rule as a gap in this page rather than as permission.
