Money

The currency is the Swiss franc, and the Swiss consumer price index is the one that applies here, which the national statistics office states in exactly those words. Treat every price as a Swiss price, because it is one. Cards work everywhere, including on every bus, and euros are often taken in shops at whatever rate the shop has set that day, which is never the good one. Carry francs or pay by card.

Paying for things

  • Contactless works everywhere, including on every LIEmobil bus, where the operator says outright that you need no cash.
  • Euros are widely accepted and are converted at the business's own daily rate. Camping Mittagsspitze says so on its own information page. It is a convenience, not a deal.

Where the money goes

  • Fuel. At CHF 2.33 a litre in September 2026, a tank is the single biggest line in a short visit.
  • Not tolls. Liechtenstein charges nothing to drive on its own roads. The vignette you need is the Swiss or Austrian one to get here. See the driving panel.

There is no restaurant or grocery price on this page. Nothing official publishes a Liechtenstein average for a meal, a coffee or a beer, and the restaurants do not put prices online. Budget as you would for eastern Switzerland and treat that as the honest answer rather than a made up number.
