Weather
Weather
North Macedonia is landlocked, dry and continental, and the best months are May, June, September and October. Skopje averages 32 °C in July and August and takes only 36 to 38 mm of rain in those months, which makes the capital hard work in a van in high summer. It also averages under 5 °C in January, so this is a country with real seasons rather than a Mediterranean one.

The year by region: how it feels, how warm, how wet
BestWorkableToo hotCold or wetTop figure: average daily high. Below it: average rainfall for the month.
All four rows are mean daily maximum temperatures and monthly rainfall. Only Skopje is on 1991 to 2020 normals. Bitola is on 1961 to 1990 and the Ohrid and Štip boxes do not state a period. There is no row above about 600 metres, because none of the mountain towns has a published climate box, so read the Šar, Mavrovo and Pelister as considerably colder than anything in the strip.
