Safety and health

Luxembourg is a wealthy, small, heavily policed country and there is very little to warn anyone about. Violence against travellers is rare, theft from vehicles is an ordinary big-city risk in the capital and effectively absent outside it, and the roads are well maintained and well signed. This is one of the few panels in this series with no specific hazard to name.

What works

  • Avoid the capital's approaches between 07:00 and 09:00 and after 16:30. That is the commuter tide, not an accident.
  • Park the van outside the city and use the free train, tram and bus. It costs nothing and removes the whole problem.

Health and pharmacies

  • 112 reaches every emergency service. 113 is the police.
  • EU citizens: carry the European Health Insurance Card.
