Weather

Turkey is at least six climates, and the right month depends entirely on where you are driving. The coasts and the interior are not the same country in weather terms. Antalya averages a daily high of 15 °C in January and 34 °C in July and August, while Nevşehir in Cappadocia, 1,000 metres up on the plateau, averages 4 °C in January and 29 °C in August. Both figures are Turkish state met office normals.

Figures are the Turkish state meteorological service's published normals for the named station: mean daily maximum in degrees Celsius and mean monthly precipitation in millimetres. The measurement periods differ by station and are long, from 1927 to 2025 at Trabzon and 1959 to 2025 at Nevşehir. A station reads its own valley, not a whole region, which is why the town is named on every row.
