There is no vignette and no toll for a car or a motorhome. The Autocelu lietosanas nodevas likums charges the road use fee on goods vehicles over 3,000 kg, and goods vehicle combinations over 3,500 kg, for using listed main and regional road sections. Cars pay nothing, and there is no toll booth and no city charge anywhere in Latvia.

The alcohol limit depends on how long you have held a licence. The Celu satiksmes likums sets 0.5 per mille for a driver with more than two years' experience and 0.2 per mille for anyone with two years or less, and the same 0.2 for bus, tram and trolleybus drivers. A fine unit is five euros under the Law on Administrative Liability, which is what turns every figure above into money.
