Overnight stays in motorhomes, campervans and converted vans are prohibited outside authorised campsites, camping zones and designated motorhome stay areas. Ordinary parking areas listed for campervans are for daytime parking unless they are separately identified as authorised overnight accommodation.

Camping behaviour includes supports other than the wheels, deployed awnings or outward-opening equipment, outdoor furniture, and emissions, noise or waste beyond normal engine operation. These activities belong only in an authorised campsite or camping area. Plan the night before entering a valley because capacity and winter access can change.

Use an officially listed overnight site, not an ordinary daytime car park

Authorised overnight

  • A listed campsite or camping zone
  • A designated motorhome stay area
  • The site is open and suitable for the current vehicle and weather

Not an overnight option

  • An ordinary daytime camper parking area
  • A roadside or ski car park without overnight authorisation
  • Any place where signs prohibit motorhomes or overnight occupancy

Ski-area arrangements can change by season. Confirm the current operator rule before arriving and never infer overnight permission from the presence of other vans.
